Service and process8 questions
What services does BookKeeper provide?
Mainly monthly bookkeeping, catch-up bookkeeping, payroll processing, e-Invoice setup, SST filing and tax filing support. For full details, see the services overview.
Who does my books?
BookKeeper is operated by O2O Alliance Sdn. Bhd., which handles enquiries and communication. The actual bookkeeping is done by partner professional bookkeeping and accounting teams. Before we quote, we tell you which team will be responsible.
What do I need to prepare to get started?
Usually your SSM registration documents, bank statements, sales invoices, supplier invoices and receipts. If you have employees, we also need the employee list and salary details. At the quotation stage, one or two months of bank statements is usually enough.
How do I send documents each month?
Mainly online: WhatsApp photos, Google Drive or accounting software all work. The key is to send them at a fixed time each month, sorted by month. If you need to hand over documents in person, this can be arranged separately with the partner team.
When do I get my reports each month?
Once all documents are in, the month's accounts and reports are delivered on the date agreed in the service agreement. The earlier and more complete your documents, the sooner your reports are ready.
How soon will you reply when I contact you?
We reply as soon as we can, usually within a working day. Messages sent on weekends or public holidays are handled on the next working day.
I already use SQL Account or AutoCount. Do I need to change software?
Not necessarily. Common Malaysian accounting software such as SQL Account, AutoCount, Bukku, Xero, QuickBooks Online and Financio can all be discussed to see whether you can keep using it. The actual arrangement depends on the partner team's practice and your needs.
Which areas do you serve?
We mainly work online and serve all of Malaysia. Our main areas include Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Klang Valley, Penang and Seremban.
Pricing6 questions
How much does a bookkeeping service cost per month?
The Starter plan is from RM280/month, Growth from RM480/month, Pro from RM880/month, and more than 400 transactions is by quotation. These are all starting prices; the final price is in your quote. See the pricing page.
How is one transaction counted?
One line in or out on your bank statement counts as one transaction, and one document that needs to be recorded also counts as one. Count the lines on last month's bank statement, add your cash receipts, and that is your rough transaction volume.
What does the monthly fee include and not include?
Every plan includes recording documents, bank reconciliation, basic monthly financial statements (profit and loss statement and balance sheet), deadline reminders, and year-end closing with the accounts organised and handed to your auditor or tax agent. Management reports are included from the Growth plan upwards, and Pro also includes payroll calculation for 10 employees and one online owner meeting a month.
Not included and quoted separately: tax computation and filing (Form C, Form B, CP204, quoted by a partner licensed tax agent), audit fees, company secretary and SSM annual filings, catch-up bookkeeping, and SST registration.
Do prices include service tax?
No. If the service provider is SST-registered, 8% service tax is added.
How is catch-up bookkeeping charged?
From RM150 per month of records, adjusted for each month's transaction volume and the state of the documents. To understand how catch-up bookkeeping works first, read what to do if your books are years behind.
Why are other quotes cheaper or more expensive?
Bookkeeping prices usually depend on transaction volume, how organised your documents are, your industry, number of employees and compliance items. When comparing quotes, first check exactly what work is included. See how bookkeeping fees are calculated in Malaysia.
Data and security3 questions
Who will my data be given to?

Regulations and deadlines8 questions
My annual turnover is below RM3 million. Do I still need to issue e-Invoices?
From 1 September 2026, the exemption threshold was raised from RM1 million to RM3 million. Businesses with annual turnover below RM3 million that meet LHDN's conditions can stop issuing e-Invoices, or continue voluntarily. See the RM3 million exemption explained.
When does the e-Invoice grace period end?
Phase 4 (annual turnover of RM5 million and below) started on 1 January 2026, with a grace period until 31 December 2027. After the grace period, each offence can be fined RM200 to RM20,000, or punished with imprisonment of up to 6 months, or both.
When is the company Form C due?

When is Form B due for Enterprise owners?
30 June each year, with a 15-day e-Filing grace period until 15 July.
When must EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB be paid?
All must be paid by the 15th of the following month. With our payroll service, the team calculates the amounts, prepares payslips and the contribution files, and reminds you before the deadline. The employer makes the payment on the KWSP, PERKESO and LHDN systems, or as agreed in the service agreement. Before hiring your first employee, read the guide to statutory payroll obligations.
If my company is audit exempt, does it still need bookkeeping?
Yes. Companies that meet SSM's audit exemption conditions must still prepare unaudited financial statements and submit them to SSM, and must still file tax. The thresholds are being adjusted in phases. See whether your company can be audit exempt.
How are financial statements submitted to SSM now? What is MBRS?
MBRS is SSM's electronic filing system, and financial statements must be converted to XBRL format for submission. MBRS 2.0 has been made mandatory in phases from 1 December 2024, and this includes the unaudited financial statements of audit-exempt companies. Submission is usually handled by a licensed company secretary. See what MBRS 2.0 is.
How long must accounts and documents be kept?
At least 7 years, under Section 82 of the Income Tax Act 1967 and Section 245 of the Companies Act 2016.
